Navigating career ambitions with ease
Sgil Cymru’s, One Stop Shop / Siop Un Stop, shines a light on the skilled individuals and array of rich opportunities within the screen industries. This engaging community resource supports users navigating their career ambitions, a site that was once lacking within the industry.
The hub serves a dual audience for both newcomers and seasoned professionals. As well as providing a platform for partnering businesses to showcase their job vacancies, training programmes, events, industry news and also offering mentorship opportunities. The site is an exemplary online space that sets a solid foundation for future brand growth and continued engagement with their audiences.
Building a brand
The project needed a brand new identity. One Stop Shop / Siop Un Stop’s logo reflects the progressive nature of the creative industries, incorporating bold type and appeals to the broad audiences of the creative film industries. The colour palette portrays the dark and light shadows of film as well as the vibrant skilled individuals that work within it.
A full identity and brand guidelines were created to support the use of the brand, giving Sgil Cymru the confidence to grow its presence.
Increased content discovery
Sgil Cymru requested the site follow a one page format, this meant the navigation would be vital to the project’s success. Using a global grid layout for the site navigation gives an overview of all the resources the site has to offer. Acting as a central launchpad to auto scroll to relevant content depending on the user.
Reducing manual burden
Adding automation for both the contact and mentorship sections of the site alleviates the manual burden of communications. Adding these features meant communication could be streamlined, increasing response times to the site’s audience and ensuring prompt follow up on enquiries.
Headless CMS integration
By opting for a headless CMS, we were free to implement the design without being restricted by pre-set themes or templates. Plus we were able to provide faster loading times, reduced server requests, and optimised performance.
Accessibility & Inclusivity
The mobile-first design is fully responsive, optimised for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring seamless functionality across various screen sizes as well as supporting multiple languages for English and Welsh speaking users.
Project launch and presentation
Marked by a live presentation and demonstration, attended by over 30+ business stakeholders, the launch was overwhelmingly positive, emphasising the platform’s ease of use, the breadth of resources available, and the impact it would have on individuals in the screen industries.
